Hello Sweet Friends,

Since we’re heading into summer, I thought I would give a few spaces in our home a little seasonal refresh and nothing speaks summertime to me more than sunshine, bright summery colors, ice cold lemonade, and sweet iced tea.

I had three criteria that I wanted to stick with to pull off my seasonal refresh: (1)  it had to be easy breezy and quickly executed; (2) to shop my home first to see what I had on hand; and (3) if I had to purchase anything new it had to be kind on the pocketbook. I’m excited to say that I pulled all three of these criteria off without a hitch!

Summer Decorating Ideas

Before I jump into telling you how I’ve decorated my home to celebrate the start of summer, I want to mention that a few of my sweet home décor blogger friends (ten of them to be exact), are joining me today on an Early Summer Décor Home Tour Blog Hop. Easy Breezy Summertime Porch Décor

What better way to usher in summer and welcome guests than a beautiful and inviting front porch. If it has seating areas for casual conversation and relaxing, even better I say! Can you guess by looking at the door baskets what the main decorating element is I have sprinkled throughout my home? Need a hint? It’s oval, yellow, and tart! See how I update door baskets here.

Here’s a list of items I typically use for a seasonal porch décor refresh

1. Welcome mat or rug
2. Some sort of door décor (wreath, swag, or basket)
3. Seasonal plants and flowers.
4. Seasonal pillows
5. On occasion, I’ll have a sign out here too

Easy Summer Decorating in the Dining Room

I kept things relatively simple in here. On the table I used a centerpiece table garland (that I made a couple of years ago), along with three rose bowls with candles inside each. The sideboard and hutch are one of my favorite things to decorate because I can change the mood in here with a few quick switcheroos

Do you spy the pencil Christmas Tree? To me, it doesn’t scream “Christmas” so I leave it up year round and occasionally decorate it per season. Anyone else do that?

By the way, my sweet husband built the sideboard and hutch for me about 17 years ago. Initially, I had my heart set on a similar sideboard and hutch from Habersham Home, but sadly, it was well above our furniture budget. My husband knew how much I loved that Habersham piece and said he would try to build them.

Y’all!, the only piece of furniture he had built previously was our son’s bunk beds! Neither of us was quite sure of how it would turn out, but as they say, nothing ventured nothing gained. I think he did an excellent job, don’t you? By the way, the sideboard and hutch combined is 9′ tall and it takes four strong tall men to lift that hutch and place on top of the sideboard!

Leaning Blanket Ladder

I recently received this Leaning Blanket Ladder Shelf from Vasagle Furniture and I am having a ball decorating it and moving it around the house. I was initially going to use it out on the front porch but when I placed in the dining room corner for safe keeping, I thought to myself, this looks pretty good here. So, here is where it stayed! Easy Breezy Lemon Squeezy Kitchen Island Décor

The kitchen island is another one of my favorite places to decorate, but I like to keep all the décor corralled in one place; and that place is this long tray. Seasonal décor may come and go, but this tray is a mainstay! Do you add seasonal decor to your kitchen island too?

Breakfast Room Lemon Themed Tablescape

I absolutely love how bright and cheerful my lemon themed tablescape turned out. And now, I’m wondering…why has it taken this long to create a lemon themed tablescape???

The pretty table runner that I’m using on the bench, to add some texture and a pop of color there, was the inspiration starting point of this lemon theme tablescape. Surprisingly, that’s the only new thing I purchased for my early summer décor refresh. Score one for me!!!

Summertime Tiered Tray

I have a sideboard in my kitchen that I love to decorate too; usually a tiered tray of some sort or these cake stands. When we remodeled our kitchen three years ago I had the countertop fabricator cut one of our remnants into a circle for me so that I could use as shown or on a Lazy Susan.

Luckily, I’ve had all of these items on hand so I was able to throw this together in about ten minutes. I’m not sure what I love more…the fact that it took me only ten minutes to whip this up or my darling daisy and bee vase.
