I recently gave my home (inside and out) a little seasonal update and the star of the front porch is my door baskets. I received several DM’S on my last Instagram post about those little cuties so I thought I would share with you how I updated my plain wicker baskets with one simple trick. Hint…jute yarn!

Supply List for My Easy Breezy Front Door Summer Basket with Jute Yarn

1. Wicker Basket (already had this)
2. White Jute Yarn (I bought this at Hobby Lobby)
3. Blue and White Striped Ribbon (bought at Hobby Lobby)
4. Floral Foam (already had on hand)
5. Floral Supplies: Bushel of Lemons,  Blueberry Stems, White Hydrangea Bushel, Ficus Leaf Stem, and Fern Stems (already had these)

Easy Breezy Steps to Update A Door Basket

This was such an easy way to temporarily update my wicker baskets to give them a brand new look for summertime. And when I’m ready to go back to the original look it’s just a matter of removing the jute yarn. Once the baskets had two layers of jute yarn the next step was to add the ribbon and then create the floral arrangement. Sadly, I forgot to take photos of that process, but here’s a quick view of how I created the arrangement: (1) start with the ficus leaf greenery; (2) add the hydrangeas; (3) add lemon stems; (4) add blueberry stems; and lastly (5) add fern leafs.
