Welcome to At Home with Kristy!
I am so delighted you’re here! I’m Kristy, the creative force behind this blog and residential interior design company, Kristy Mastrandonas Interior Design & Styling.
I’m a homebody at heart and very passionate about creating a warm & welcoming home environment for my family, friends, and guests. I believe that our home’s surroundings have a huge impact on our sense of emotional comfort and well-being, and what we choose to surround ourselves with (colors, furnishings, art, etc.) plays a big role in that. I also believe that you don’t need to spend a fortune to create a beautiful home; one that you love spending time in and one that you’re proud of when family and guests come over.
For the past three decades I’ve been designing and decorating luxury model homes and private residences with the same care and attention that I’ve given my own home. I’ve helped my clients navigate the overwhelming options and decisions to create a home that truly reflects their taste and lifestyle, and I can hardly wait to share with you the knowledge and wisdom I’ve gained, plus all the tips, tricks, shortcuts, and more.
By nature, I’m a planner, perfectionist, and big picture thinker with the end goals always in sight, but I also love to get lost in the weeds perfecting every detail. What this means is that you can expect to see well-thought-out blog posts that are relevant, useful, easy to follow and implement, as well as lighthearted and fun.
My goal is to educate, inspire, encourage, and empower you, so that you too, can create a beautiful home that you will love at any season in life. So, grab your favorite beverage of choice and maybe a little snack, because you might be here for a while!

A Few Fun Facts About Me
- I’m a habitual tablescape stylist, pillow addict, and a big fan of mixing high/low pieces to get that high-end curated look on a budget that won’t break the bank.
- I’m a wannabe amazing home chef, gardener, and organizing queen, but I’m still very much a work in progress on these.
- I operate best when fully caffeinated by Dunkin Donuts Cold Brew and Diet Coke due to my night owl tendencies.
- My personal design & decorating style is French & European Country. Their soft, serene, rustic elegant styles have a timeless & tranquil feel that speaks to my soul.
- My first design project was my Barbie Dream House at the tender age of six, when I used Barbie & Friends clothing to create rugs, bedding, and window treatments… naked dolls in corner, lol! Little did I know then that I was setting the course of what my future would hold. I think it’s safe to say that I was born a designer and polished my skills through education and experience.
And just in case you’re wondering about the acronyms behind my name…
- The short version: I have the chops to back the talk.
- The long version: I have a BS in Interior Design and passed the NCIDQ, a rigorous national 2-day exam to gain the coveted RID (Registered Interior Designer) status and professional membership standing in professional industry organizations, ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and IDS (Interior Design Society).
